Influenster Product Review: L’Oreal Moisturizer

Influenster sent me another free product to try!  This time it was the L’Oreal Paris Revitalift Triple Power Deep Acting Moisturizer.  I participated in a skin care challenge.  I took before and after pictures of my skin after using the moisturizer for 14 days.  Here’s my before pic.  I don’t have on any makeup, this picture is 100% unedited with no filter.

I haven’t used a drug store moisturizer in quite some time & I’ve never tried one from L’Oreal so I was interested to see how it would perform.  I went on L’Oreal’s web site and saw that it had 4/5 stars so I was optimistic.  Here are the product claims from the web site.

Here’s my after picture……also taken without makeup, no editing and no filter.

My Review of the Product

As soon as I got the moisturizer in the mail the first thing I did was smell it.  It has a light perfume scent.  I, personally, don’t like any fragrance in my skin care so I was immediately turned off.  It wasn’t super strong but something I noticed.  On the box it claims to give lightweight moisture.  Not so…..this moisturizer is so thick.  I’m not a fan of it at all.  I didn’t see any difference in my skin.  To me it looks and feels the same.  It did nothing for my combination oily skin.

It may be beneficial for those with dry or aging skin.  It’s supposed to repair wrinkles and firm skin.  These aren’t skin care issues I have.  My concerns are oily skin and hyperpigmentation.

It claims to be good for day and night.  I use a  cream with no SPF as a night moisturizer. [ctt template=”4″ link=”pA8t3″ via=”yes” ]Having to add an additional product to get SPF just adds another product to the skin care regimen and costs more money. It’s not worth it.[/ctt]

This product retails for $19.99 at Walmart.  It IS NOT worth that price tag.  Honestly I wouldn’t pay anything for it.  You could put that money towards something that actually works from Ulta or Sephora.  The biggest turn offs for me are the scent and the consistency.  If I use a thicker moisturizer its in the winter and I use it at night.

This one’s a no go for me but I have plenty of products I could review.  Let me know if you guys want to see more product reviews!
